What is this guide about?

The Coding Survival Guide takes programmers, of any level, through 12 good habits to adopt and 12 pitfalls they should avoid on their journey to a software development career. In additon to that, this guide features code examples to help demonstrate topics and has 20 pages of content. This list was collected from years of experience developing applications at all levels from personal home projects up through enterprise applications and will make for a great addition to any programmers reference material collection.

Programming can be a daunting task for some and knowing some of the Do’s and Don’ts, while coding up projects, is a real time saver. We are creatures of habit and once we learn a habit early in the process the harder it is to break later when it really matters. By knowing what good habits you should get into, to save time and your sanity and where potential problems arise, you can quickly master your programming language of choice while learning tricks that will apply across all languages.

We decided to sweeten the pot for customers by tossing this guide in for free ($8 dollar value) with our ever popular project ebook. We thought these two books really compliment each other well. As you work through some of the projects listed in the idea book, you can refer to several of the tips in the Coding Survival Guide to make sure that not only are you practicing to write bug free code, but you are also practicing the thought process for designing great applications.
